Why are we fundraising

For the fifth year in a row, we are frocking up and also holding a ladies “Frocktober” afternoon tea to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and much needed funds for ovarian cancer research. 4 years ago our beautiful Tammy, lost her 4 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was only 44 years old and left behind a 14 year old son, a husband, her parents, a sister and many devastated friends and family. In Tammy’s memory, under the team name “Frock You Cancer, Freo Tammy Style”, (which she chose before she passed away) we have held 4 “Frocktober” fundraising events and we have raised over $140,000. Tammy helped organise the first Frocktober event which she attended 2 weeks before she passed away. She wanted us to keep the fight going, to continue to raise awareness and much needed funds for Ovarian Cancer research. The current five year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients sits at just 49%. There is currently no early detection test and treatment options haven't improved significantly in decades. Investing in research is key to accelerating the breakthroughs ovarian cancer patients need. We are proud to rock a frock (just like Tammy always did) and raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation this Frocktober. Together, with your help, we will overcome ovarian cancer.
