Day 31: the day I drove Mum home from the hospital for the last time, it was a no brainer to take the coast road home. This would be the last time she’d get to see her beloved ocean. The moment we hit the coast, she propped herself up on her elbows, wound her window down and let the sun warm her face. She died two weeks later. I’m so glad I was able to give her one last glimpse of our ocean. I miss you Mum. I hope you splash in the ocean every day, wherever you are x

Day 30: beach, Granny Smith apples, one of my fave frocks. It’s a good Saturday ☀️ The mission and vision of the OCRF is: “Through innovative ovarian cancer research, we aim to improve the lives of women with ovarian cancer today and increase survival rates in the future.”
Why wouldn’t you want to support them?! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Day 29: guess what? Thanks to an early detection test (pap smear) and preventative vaccine (HPV), we are on track to completely eradicate cervical cancer in Australia by 2028! Surely we can do the same for ovarian cancer? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Day 27: invasive surgery (complete hysterectomy) is currently the only way of detecting and accurately diagnosing ovarian cancer. And, because chemo options have not been changed in thirty years, there is no guarantee the drugs will be suitable or effective, and many women discover that if their treatment succeeds in getting rid of their cancer, there’s an 80% chance it will come back.

Day 26: raising money to fund the early detection test and better treatment options for ovarian cancer. As at today, there is no test, the therapies we have are inadequate, there is no cure. Let’s help end this

Day 25: last week of this year’s Frocktober. Let’s get it done.
Today, four women living in Australia will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and three will die. The stats are shit and we gotta keep raising funds and awareness so treatments can be improved and the disease can be detected sooner.

Day 24: sorry I missed a few days of uploads. If I'm honest, the fatigue well and truly set in. The missing frocks included a long sleeved cherry red corporate frock, a flowy, flowery blue frock, and an LSKD comfy frock. Here is Day 24. My all time fave frock.

Day 19: some forced couch time today after having something suspect sliced off my back this morning. A timely reminder to get your outsides AND insides checked on the reg.

Day 18: has turned into a work from home day so I can keep an eye on my sick cub. 💙🦋

Day 17: blocked dishwasher hose has me crashing back to reality. Now I smell like drain 🤢

Day 4: hiking in a frock. Friking? 🤷🏼‍♀️
There is a 92% survival rate from ovarian cancer if it is found early.
Fact: only 19% of cases are diagnosed early.
We need an early detection test, because women deserve more time.

Day 3: a stroll along the coast with my little love and wearing a frock from one of my faves. It’s the little things 🥰

Day 2: final reccy of the quiz venue today. We’re a bit excited. Well, I am at least 🤣.
