I'm Frocking Up to raise funds for Australia's most lethal gynaecological cancer - ovarian cancer. If anyone knows me, I buy way too many clothes. I'd like to put my terrible shopping addiction to a good cause.

In the month of October, I'll be putting on a colourful outfit in the name of raising money for Ovarian cancer. Working in youth cancer and having family who have survived or loss the battle to cancer, I have seen how cancer impacts not only the individual, but also their loved ones, and the community around them. It has been even more challenging with COVID19 when cancer patients undergo treatment during a pandemic, leaving them isolated and separated from family when they are feeling most vulnerable. The least I could do is bring awareness to a disease that could do with more research funding and supports.

I am fundraising with a team of lovely ladies who are incredibly giving and equally as fashionable. I would appreciate any donations or even spreading the word if you're unable to contribute a dollar!

I'll be posting my outfits starting 1October 2021 on instagram @thattakesthequokka.

The five-year survival rate for ovarian cancer in Australia is just 46%, meaning those diagnosed get less than half a chance of surviving five years from their diagnosis. I want to help change the statistics and give those diagnosed with ovarian cancer a greater chance of survival. The OCRF is the leading non-government funder of ovarian cancer research in Australia, and the largest funder nationwide for early detection research. If an early detection test can be developed, survival rates for ovarian cancer could rise to 90% and above, saving the lives of thousands. Please help me support the vital work of the OCRF, and the dedicated researchers they fund, by making a donation to my page. Every dollar counts!

31 Oct 2021

It’s the final day of #Frocktober2021 and I’d like to thank everyone who donated and followed my journey to bring awareness to Ovarian cancer research.
I was able to fundraise more than my targeted goal of $600, and I was absolutely floored that our whole team hit a over $12k.
It’s been a blast doing this challenge over wisdom teeth surgery, lockdown, and reopening of NSW. I am so grateful to everyone who donated, spent some time going through my Instagram, and learnt about Ovarian Cancer.

Day 5 of Frocktober2021!

Fact 5 of OvarianCancer: The average 5-year survival rate for ovarian cancer is 46%.
Instagram is down but the fundraising carries on! I wanted to take the time to thank everyone’s generosity for donating to a good cause. Without your help, I didn’t think I’d reach my full target today. Every dollar counts and sharing makes a difference!

Day 1 of #Frocktober2021!

Fact 1 of #OvarianCancer: Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynaecological cancer.

I realised that I signed up for #Frocktober with the lovely ladies of the #made590appreciationsociety the day after my wisdom teeth surgery’s and wasn’t sure if I should proceed. I was however incredibly humbled by the generosity of your donations and thought to continue to bring awareness for an important cause.
