Make it an event to remember
Host your loudest fundraiser ever! Get some friends together, enjoy some frocktails and raise money to save lives.
Check out our ideas below for hosting your own Frockstravaganza.
Frocktober Maker's Circle
Grab your besties and host an Frocktober Maker’s Circle. Create a dress from scratch, upcycle and give a vintage find a new lease on life, or create an accessory to wear with your current favourite. Find a project and create together throughout Frocktober, then wear your creations with pride, or consider selling them to raise funds.
Not able to gather in person? Create a Facebook group or organise your Maker's Circle online.
Frocktails and canapes
For an event with a little bit of glamour, grab a handful of friends, dress up in your best cocktail frock and organise a dinner party. A small table at your favourite restaurant, or host cocktails and canapes at home; either way, a small catered event can be a great way to raise some funds.
If you’re locked up at home, have Friday night cocktails via Zoom instead. Share your favourite cocktail recipes in advance, or ask your mixologist-bestie to join you online and have cocktail making lessons. Frock up and enjoy!
Host a Frock themed event - cocktail, thrifted, throwback or whatever tickles your fancy - and have fun with it.
Sell tickets or ask everyone to make a donation to attend.
Top tip: if you're hosting an event for a large number of people, reach out to some local businesses such as cafes, grocers, restaurants and gift stores to see if they would like to sponsor your event or offer some prizes for a raffle or lucky door prizes.
Tell your boss to 'Get Frocked'
If you’re in the office, host a Frock Friday or a big workplace Frockstravaganza and encourage your colleagues to Frock Up and make a donation to the OCRF.
Turn up the heat and add some competition by including a fashion parade for the best dressed ‘Office Frocking Legend’.
Top tip: got a boss or a colleague who's not a big frock wearer? Ask them to set a fundraising target to 'get frocked' in the loudest, brightest or silliest outfit you can find. Your colleagues will definitely get on board if someone is willing to dress up (and maybe look a bit ridiculous) for a day in the name of a good cause - all they have to do is donate enough funds to hit the target!
