I had a very special start to my morning today, meeting the beautiful Aimee from #OCRF for a coffee and chat about all things fundraising and support. What a very special and strong lady she is 🥰

Fact: 13 The symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague, and may not even present significantly until the cancer has advanced. Symptoms can include persistent or sudden onset of: bloating and abdominal swelling, appetite loss or feeling full quickly, tiredness, unexplained changes in weight, change in frequency of urination and lower back pain.

Week 3 can be a bit of a slog when you’re campaigning for a whole month. I’m sure you are all sick of seeing my face, I know I am 🙈

Wearing my heart on my sleeve today, hoping for some donations to one day saving the lives of many women.

Fact: This year, around 1,815 Australians will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer 😞

The OCRF has four key research priorities: early detection, treatment, prevention and recurrence management.

And we are a now a third of the way through! You have all been amazing 👏👏

I have discovered that when you say ‘Frock Yeh’, it makes you look angry (see pic ⬇️) 🤣🤣 But this is a serious discussion, as I’ve been highlighting to you all.

Fact: More than 50% of the community incorrectly believe that a cervical cancer screening test will detect ovarian cancer - it won’t.

Back on Campus today and enjoying the beautiful sunny spring day.
Fact: The only way to definitively diagnose ovarian cancer is through invasive surgery and biopsy.

No rest for this little Frocker! This grass ain’t gonna mow itself and we have to remove all the little hiding holes that the snakes might take a liking to! 🐍🏡

Fact: If caught in stages 1a or 1b, survival rates for ovarian cancer patients are as high as 92%. However, only 19% of cases are diagnosed early due to vagueness of symptoms and lack of an early detection test.

And what a day it’s gonna be as the Perth Dame Frockstars host the 1st of our two events today. There will be some teapot painting, prizes, some nibbles and Prosecco and a guest speaker about Ovarian Cancer.
Fact 7 When diagnosed in the later stages – which is most cases – the five-year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients is just 29%.

Its a WFH day today, so it's a pic in front of one of the 3 macadmia orchards on my property. It attracts a lot of the Black Tail Cockatoo's who are the only bird that can actually crack the outer nut and inner husk to feast on this Aussie treat.
